Community Branch: This bank was designed for a 50’ x 50’ building footprin allotment, on the corner of a main intersection. Two of the facades therfore had to meet stringent LDC requirements. These included massing, glazing percentages, maximum length horizontal roof lines without a vertical break, and other design elements to choose from such as shutters and overhangs. The interior, with the large open lobby, lined with offices and a conference room, all utilize full-heignt glass partitions to bring in lots of natural light, as well as enhancing the security optics of a well-surveilled space. The operations manger assisted with the institution’s strict requirements for sizing and locations of the circulation and program items - making sure the corporate approved layouts were aligned. Back-of-House: The rear of the bulding brought one of it’s main functions to the forefront. The importance of serving the heavily trafficked drive-through was greater than the “foot-traffic” up front. A teller window, an ATM, a night-deposit box, and a vacuum air tube (VAT) were provided for the two lanes. Coordinaiton with Civil was crucial on this east side of the builing, as the sizes and radii of the drives directly affected building placement and parking on the west and south sides.
